Ltd., based in Melbourne Australia, two industry giants that give us the ability to bridge foodservice equipment relationships and provide management advisory services, globally.
Jack Scott, FCSI, CFSP began working in the food service business in the mid-1970s as an Account Executive, on the McDonald’s account, for the family’s advertising agency, based in Columbus, Ohio. When he was finished at Ohio State University, he moved out west to California, and worked for both Vulcan Hart and Egan Burke Rep Group, up until 1986.
In 1986 Jack relocated to Australia to work for Luke Equipment, an Australian manufacturer that was building Vulcan Hart under license at the time. He moved to Sydney based Curtin Equipment in 1987 when they became the Australian distributor for Alto-Shaam. In addition to Alto-Shaam, the Curtin group also distributed Zanussi cooking equipment from Italy. To this day, Jack is responsible for the single largest roll -out in Aussie foodservice equipment history – a $27 million dollar deal with KFC, that involved putting a combi steamer in every location. In addition to this, Jack was responsible for numerous equipment roll-outs with Australia’s largest retailers, including Coles/Myer and Woolworth’s supermarkets, and capped off the Aussie experience with landing the Sydney Olympic Stadium business, in 1996. Jack, and his wife and two children, all have dual passports to this day, and continue to enjoy the benefits of being citizens in both Australia and America.
In 1998 Jack returned to the United States as National Account Manager, working directly for Alto- Shaam, based in San Diego. Through 2022 Jack had numerous sales and marketing rolls with Alto-Shaam, culminating with Senior VP Sales, in charge of the domestic general market sales team. During his tenure at Alto-Shaam, sales rose from $40M annually to $200M, and the head count went from 100 people to over 500. The General Market team was responsible for most of the growth here, over the years, with well-known accounts such as MGM, Google, NexGen, and Safeway Supermarkets, leading the way. In the SR. VP role, Jack was responsible for building relationships and partnering all the foodservice channel members – Dealers, Consultants, Rep Groups, and Regional Key Accounts, critical to Alto-Shaam’s success over the years. These relationships and partnerships continue to add value to this day, as Jack remains very close to several industry associations, including FEDA, MAFSI, and FCSI. In addition, Jack was also responsible for Alto-Shaam’s growth in the Australia/New Zealand markets for many years, as Regional Manager Pacific Rim – taking advantage of the Australian connection.
